Controller all 4 lights constantly on
« on: March 03, 2012, 02:15:18 PM »
Well got this matrix motherboard controller that won't turn on but when turned on with power all the ring lights turn on, not blinking but constantly. I have a good feeling its a short but I really dnt wanna grab another motherboard. Mods on it are internal mic with volume control and mute switch, basic rapid fire (matrix board) and push activated leds in buttons. I check, re-check, and checked my wireing again but just can't seem 2 find out what I messed up on...thanks in advance

check all the rapid fire wiring. there is something you are over looking..

also if you cant find a short or bridge maybe undo the mods?.. starting with the rf, then the mic. testing after undoing the mods..

1st which Rapid Fire did you add to the matrix?  Is it a Matrix 1 or the new Matrix 2 board , pic would help

need to give more info on exactly what you did and what you RF you used.

I disconnected all the mods, no luck still so I'm guessing its done...but its a matrix 1 board with the rapidfire hooked up 2 the rumble motor

Edit: Doesn't have a RF chip

if you guys are familiar with the no rf chip method where you hook a switch to the player led and then the rt, it makes it rapid fire. This method works the same with the rumble. like this...

right trigger-----momentary push button------rumble solder point

check the controller boards itself for a shot. It will likely be something obvious. If you were soldering something near the board sometimes solder can fall and cause shorts or little solder balls that come out of your cleaning sponge may stick to your board and cause shorts that will get hot and melt the solder. (has happened to my falcon RGH motherboard 6 times already lol.)
