Would you Declare that you watch porn to your ISP Just so they would let you?

British Prime Minister David Cameron is meeting with ISPs to discuss the prospect of internet filtering, after pressure from campaigners over the ease of viewing adult entertainment for children.  Right now ISPs and parents in the UK have the option of putting parental controls in place, in effect an opt-out system, to block porn from their children’s eyes.

While I can definitely see their point about the warping of tiny minds being incredibly easy as the internet basically is porn, but it’s a worrying censorship path to take.  With sites Like the Pirate Bay being blocked by the ISP's under court order, and Porn turning into an opt in service, it looks like a free and open net has well and truly gone out the window


I’m all for protecting our kids, but surely an opt-out system would be better for the people who actually have kids, than making the rest of us hold our hands up and opt-in. I simply can’t imagine how awkward that conversation with your ISP is going to be.  No granted there are ways around stuff like this and depending on the age of the kids (14 or so) they are more likely to be the ones using the workarounds.

if parents would spend more time with their kids and monitor what they are doing, this would not be an issue.

the parts can block it from there pc. i supposed they could called the ips and ask them too.

there are free software to block porn,keylogger,filters on new modems/old as well, isp's most anyway before connection as this stuff if you want a filter on.

i agree and have said it since my first son was born if parents acted as parents you would not need anything. were i live you got more dirty girls at 9 than you have in the Philippians i tell ya that and most have said its porn its the only way they find out about sex cos there mom/dad just wants the child benefits and tax credits.

ive had fight's with people due to them doing stuff like this.
