Author Topic: My Jtag's boot screen? (Read 15197 times)

So i have had my jtag for about 9 months now. I purchased it online and love it. but when i got it, it did not have the Microsoft boot logo or sound that shows before it goes to dashboard. I was wondering if it was possible to get this back or even replace it with something different. mostly cause i just don't like looking at my tv telling me there is no video source for 10-20 seconds every day.

and damn it seems like verification text boxes keep getting harder and harder to read. Soon I'll have to get some of the software they are trying to prevent from posting just to be able to post myself ~_^

sounds like you have a rgh jasper or slim.. console got pic or video of what its doing?

it was listed on purchase as a "JTAG XBOX 360 Console Freeboot 13599 XBOX Live blue LEDs"

I ran updates and got all my other jtag software since then myself. its just a black screen and my tv tells me there is no info being sent to it then my fans kick into high gear and BAM! strait to my dashboard.

I was under the impression that you had to have a cool-master board or something added in a RGH and i didnt see anything extra in there the one time i had it open.

So i guess i was under the impression that it was a jtag and not a rgh, but i could be wrong since i have never done either myself.

Edit:Also its one of the old ones before they added hdmi outputs. man i wish it had hdmi...

they added hdmi port? hmmm doubt that but maybe possible... also its a RGH not a cool master board its a cool runner.. something is meessed up video would help or some pics of your console.

Falcon boot times usually 5 second boot times

Jasper boot times usually 10 to 20 second boot times

Slim boot times very can be from 2 seconds to damn near 25 seconds, some better then others i tried alot of different things to improve it

Just the way they are. pretty much have to live with it, and deal with the boot times... but video would help out to make sure that is the issue.

I meant it was the original XENON MB that did not support hdmi. I simply wish it did have hdmi.

I assume you want photos of the inside and I'm not sure where my screwdriver set is atm.

So can ya give me an idea of what parts you want photos of and ill got look for my tools.

I only opened it that one time to add a ghost case and two fans with LEDs.

Edit: m not sure how long it actually takes for it to boot i just know it seems like WAY longer when your looking at a black screen. Im not really trying to improve boot time i just want to see something on the screen as it boots

if its a xenon mother board then its jtag i would image yea if you can open it if not just take a pic of what its doing or small video if possible..

well i timed it and it had a boot time from when the light came on the front till the second it displayed my dashboard it took 52 seconds.

I never see this

and it seemed like that made it feel way longer but i guess now that i have timed it, it is in fact just way longer.

But if it is possible to get that back or like i said replace it with a custom boot animation or something that would still be awesome.

take a pic of the back of the console i think your confused... cause you said it was on 13599 dashboard and its on 14699 dashbord style.. so need a pic of the power plug and if its HDMI cause from what I am betting its a Jasper RGH console... if it takes that long to boot.

You will probably need to flash your NAND again if you want to see your boot screen.

Ran updates how though? flash 360 ? or did he sign on to xbl and do it? what would cause the 20 second delay in the boot up? + 1 phantom also

edit and if you update it on live would it RROD or would it just get banned?

You can update to the latest dash by putting the official update onto usb

It has a xenon/zephyr plug on the back. I took photos of it but uh... the memory stick was still in my laptop so my camera kinda didn't save them.

As for how i applied the updates I dled them from an external source on the internet and put them on a MU and booted with the eject key. I dont remember all the specifics cause it was months ago but i do know i have never been on xbox live. I have blocked live connections in the settings and installed multi disc swap.

you do have me concerned about how long it takes my xbox to boot now...

So, would i be able to add my own custom one or just retrieve the original? I would be happy with either one but the idea of my xbox greeting me when i booted up just seems cool to me now. it would be like "2001: A Space Odyssey" it's eye turns on and its like "Hello Dave," or Frank in my case.

Hrmm too bad H.A.L. only mentions Frank once.

need to wait for the full release of Tx Fusion for custom boot animations, and even then fusion only works on RGH consoles, not for JTAGs.

if you have your original NAND dump, you can create another freeboot image and flash it to the console

if you dont have the original NAND you could try just dumping the NAND and reflashing it to see if that fixes it.

I have another xbox with a zephyr MB that needs the disc drive fixed. It was updated past the jtag point and I have been considering getting it RGH. the guy who i have work on my xbox says "he knows a guy" that does it. Would be able to use hdmi again as well... all i need now is some spare cash.

Yes you would be able to use HDMi... I give acidmod members a pretty good deal on RGH . set up with xex menu and Freestyle dash with your orignal nands. though shipping cost. also.. I have done a few for Acidmod members .

in the three pics he posted, the first one was a normal tv message, mine does that when im sitting on the input without the xbox on.

the second pic, Rodent, is not a 13599 dashboard or 14699. that is a free style dash skin called metro. this is a cool skin, but it crashed too much for my liking

when u turn on the xbx, hold the right bumper during the boot to return to nxe.

Ok understand that, the first pic is, the second pic, Metro? is that something new for FSD or is that older Fsd? I usueally run 2.27 or something like that. i believe is what the version FSD i have now

And no one updated in jtag thread for metro? ... I been trying to keep site up on RGH stuff but not the FSD or dashlaunch well think i posted dashlaunch in news. idk so busy..

remove the hard drive and see if it makes a difference FSD is probably causing the issue fsd isnt bug free
or try updating to the newest dashboard or redoing freestyle dash all together
jtags dont have unstable boot times
and yes i agree acidmods fsd skin is needed lol

Now that you said that, i was thinking the same thing yesterday when i did a xenon jtag , I flashed the Freeboot 14719 had the old dashlaunch still on my usb and when i booted the console to install the newer Install default.xex it did the same thing.. booted with out the xbox 360 screen once installed it was fine so maybe he deleted something out of the dashlaunch or out of xex menu

Also it never had the boot animation, So i don't think dash launch messed that up. i can see it effecting my boot time though.

Well I installed dashlaunch 2.32 and it increased my boot time to 46.1 seconds.

I also saw a dashlaunch 3.0 beta but i figured i should stick with the non beta.
