wireless adapter gives red light

so my wireless adapter gives me the red light it doesnt make sense it worked the other day and now it doesnt i had to take apart teh xbox and fix the dvd drive could i have done something to damage it? all it gives me is a red light and says a wireless detector has been detected. i  know that the network is there  cause my room mate has it  and the xbox does recognize that there is a adapter

some things to try...

changing usb ports.

which one do you have?

i think there is 2 or 3 different kinds. a black, white?, and grey one

got the white used all three ports and i even used my room mates  adapter and it still didnt work and i know that it works on his

can you try hardwired?


also did you check in the network settings and see if you can manually connect to it?

manual seemed to let me connect it connected to teh network then didnt connect to the internet but i know why that

mine does that too. i got a slim. and it does it alot.
