DVD drive acting wierd ???

I just bought an Xbox from a friend for 10 bucks 120gb elite. He said he dose it know if it works or not so I have it now and it turns on perfect it had an open tray error . Fixed it but the DVD drive won't close but opens really fast . And the Xbox did this even before I opened it up to fix the open tray.

I have to close it with my hand and it would read the games . Anyone know what's wrong here?

i had an xbox that did the same thing. had to replace the the whole drive as one of the gears was broken and the tray slide grooves were broken as well.

Outro Reset might not of been done right if he tried to flash the drive either that or the door is clocked with dirt and will not close on its own so it shoots it back out.  one other thing to try is to make sure the drive is clocked right with the gears  meaning that you need to take it apart and make sure that the dive door is fully opening and closing manually and that the dock for the laser is moving in sync

I think it's the gears not in place . Ill check it out but if not ill just get another drive and swap motherboards
