The analog stick DOES move when there's no physical stick there. It's to do with the resistance in the analog stick.
As for why it's moving when it's IN, I don't know.

if analog moving witout touching it,it might be bad contact between rubber and 4 copper  point..but now its moving without analog :sadno: it happen when i'm doing touch screen mod using analog stick..but i dont soldered it direct to copper point, but i scratch a little under analog then jumper out with wire

Hi if the analog psp stick Move down right when the stick isn't present is normal (it's done on all PSP without stick in place).
Now if you have scratch a pin on the modo you need to solder the stick to the mobo.

I've been having the same problem with the endlessly drifting analog stick also. I've recently decided to pull out the old "broken" psp slim and mess with it again. Originally I got this one with the drifter for $30. The pads had been scraped off from the previous owner so thank you for directing me to the IC chip, I've searched everywhere for this info. From the right of the chip (towards where the pads were) I took a razor blade and slid it down. I plan to use it strictly with RemoteJoy, so this won't pose a problem. However, I got exaggerated at some point and decided to slide the razor down the left side of the chip. At one point it cut the power and left a very dim standby power led indicator so now I have my own stupidity to deal with here but I just wanted to throw out a "thanks", your research has been much appreciated.
