xbox controller with mini usb

hey guys, what's up?, i have  a wireless xbox controller, and i was thinking to converted to wire, but  an idea come to my mind,  put a mini usb port in my controller, the idea is simple, you have your wireless controller, when the battefery goes off you plug your usb cable and you play, is like a play and charge but homemade. So i need help here, look at the picture.Thanks for your time

you would have to build a board that would change the usb 5v down to 3.6v for the controller to operate safely. considering prototype boards and material cost. as for the usb cable, it'll cost more the longer it is. you should just buy a play and charge kit.

Just use a zener diode to regulate the 5v if your going that route. The easiest way of going about this would be picking up one of those xbox oem rechargeable batteries and charging cable. making the batteries internal by removing the rumble packs and putting the batteries where they use to be, and cutting off the charger end and putting on a mini usb end. and then solder a female mini usb end to the matching pins on the board then find someway to mount it in the hole.
