Delidded Xbox 360 Slim..

I am going to add a TX Slim Proto and a Demon to my Trinity so I decided to Delid the IHS and replace the TIM, I searched and couldn't find any info for the proper way to do it on a 360 slim so I just did it like you would on a PC.  The factory TIM was dried out so hopefully this will help.  I'll update my temps once complete.









Warning:  DO NOT ATTEMPT IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING BECAUSE YOU COULD MESS UP YOUR 360 BEYOND REPAIR.

Rodent:
Use AS5   Artic silver 5 for the Thermal paste!   do not use the stuff your using

Modded Matt:
I use artic silver 5. its 10$ of a small tube that does about 3 xbox 360s

Gizmo613:
I Use Artic Silver 5 And Artic Mx4. I Get About 3-5 Celcius Degrees Lower Eith Mx4.

Can You Shed Some Info On Deliding.

I just use the Liquid Ultra between the Die and IHS, not sure what I am going to use between the IHS and Heatsink.  I have to order something for between the IHS and the Heatsink.

I wonder if I can replace the the long xclamp studs from the slim with the short xclamp studs from the phat and do away with the IHS?  I have lapped the heatsink so its perfectaly flat.

As for Delidding advice I unplugged the fan and used a IR temp gun and got te temp up a little to soften the glue between IHS and die, I then used the razor blade to cut some of the glue and used one of the $5 IHS tools on ebay.


Also I have a free sample of this product coming to test the contact between Die - IHS and IHS - Heatsink.

Update:
these guys are sending me 5 free tubes of IC 24c & enough Fuji Prescale paper to test the contact and pressure of my heatsink and IC is going to pay for 6 of the Prescale samples to be digitally analyzed for their first 360 test and info for the site.
