PS Vita 1000 Data/charge Port Mod
« on: May 15, 2015, 03:45:48 PM »
could someone explain this mod to me? do I have to solder together two clips on the data port?

I have soldered wires to an old iphone usb, but when I plug it into a ps4 it tells me too many usbs are plugged in and when I plug it
into my macbook pro it tells me it is drawing to much voltage

I managed to solder all the points to the PS Vita using the link you sent me. I stripped an old Iphone 4/Ipod charger and soldered the wires directly to the points. I am still getting this message on my macbook pro: "because a usb device was drawing too much power...."

I put some hot glue to secure the wires to the vita. could that have done anything? I have not hooked up the mother board to a screen and full shell yet, all I have is the power button left daughter board with the power LED and the mother board and battery.
I'm going to take a vita apart and see if it works. until then, does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

Hot glue won't hurt it. I suggest taking some good HD pictures  of your work so other members can see exactly what u got going on. A picture is worth a thousand words my friend!
