mods:
500gb hdd upgrade SSD  :tup: dont ask where i got it from lmao
cfw rebug 4.xx cfw with eeid rootkey so i can swap between cex and dex
enabled the hidden leds on the eject/power board
fan cut out getting around 40 to 50C now before it would hover around 60C
cut out the ps3 logo
painted the top half blue doing a black and blue scheme
*reballed the cpu.gpu and southbridge  :tup:

future mods:
leds and ill see what else gonna give this to my nephew once done
any comments are welcome good bad etc
might redo the paint not sure
this is a work in progress will update when i add stuff etc

there is  a local store something like a rent a center type but diff company and all the stuff that gets repo either goes in the trash if the people who were renting it  trashed it or sold as is or if its semi working they sell it at a huge discount
i ended up buying a laptop fairly new one for around 25 bucks which they said no longer powered on i said ehh for 25  bucks i took a shot ended up semi fixing it it turned on but then off after about 30 mins but decided to scrap it as a new mobo was around 300 bucks for a replacement
ended up snagging the lcd ram and hdd and to my surprise the hdd was a 500gb ssd  :tup:
not sure if ill leave it in this ps3 as i have another 500gb hdd that i can put in there but i got lazy and havent done the swap yet

It looks pretty sweet, keep us updated if you slap some more mods in there. What sort of gains do you get with an ssd in a ps3?

there is a small difference better response times in loading games off the hdd but as far as normal ps3 boot times not much of a diff not enough to waste a 500gb ssd
