Measure the Resistance of the R3 button line there to ground.
Use the pin below it, straight down from the red dot.
Yeah that's not right, that would mean the R3 line is grounded and in that case it would never work. The proper way to test it would be to remove the stick and check the R3 line again, but, and no offense intended, I'd be concerned about more damage happening to it during that process.
Thing still looks to me like the PD Resistor isn't in circuit and that R3 line is floating. You can try putting a 100k Resistor from the R3 line to Ground and see if that fixes it.
Put a 100k Resistor between the 2 dots.
@ Ivan - Yes.@ Zhen - Both are Caps, 100nF and 33pF, neither are really necessary. No idea what that would do with the 5v.
