A Via is the smaller copper coated hole that goes thru the board to connect the top and bottom traces together.
The better description of the RSX spot is a plated thru hole, that is the copper inside the hole there still looks to be intact and that is what connects the RSX lead to the top side trace when it's soldered.
If the top side of RSX is bad, then you'll need to solder a jumper wire from the RSX lead on the bottom side, then run it around to the top side of the board and solder it to the bottom of R57.
