1708 Both triggers dead
« on: June 30, 2018, 04:35:29 AM »
Neither trigger works, (although xbox controller tester app has them both at 100%) having done some quick testing on a working board the ones in question don't seem to be getting any power (seeing about 1v present at the sensor on the other board) and as both of them don't work assuming what ever supplies them with power is at fault , or atleast the next logical investigation check. Anyone have any suggestions for where to look, have tired eyes and can't use the microscope at work till monday lol

You really need a scope to see the VCC circuit for the Hall sensors because it is a 125Hz signal, not DC. Same goes for the Output of the Hall, need a scope to see it and if it's working correctly.

U9 supplies the power to the Hall sensors. Make sure that R38 - 0ohm and R40 - 100k are still there and correct values.

U9

1 - 125Hz Out, to Hall VCC
2 - GND
3 - 125Hz In, from MCU
4 - 3.3v

Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.

Unfortunately don't have access to a scope (may pick up one of those DIY cheap ones off ebay or bang good for £20 for now lol)

However comparing voltage coming in as thats all i can do there is no signal coming from the MCU U9 has 3.3V but nothing at all on pins 1 or 3 so guessing its looking like its going in the donor board box :(
