Is it possible to overpaint a sticky skin tattoo?

Hello guys,

i wonder if it is possible to use that sticky glue tattoos, that you can rub of, to make a controller prettier. My thoughts are, to put the "tattoo" to the controller case and just simply paint them with a clear finish...I think it would be way easier than water transfer printing and the effect would be the same..

What do you think?

BTW: I am german, so sorry for my bad englisch. Also i don't know the right word for that tattoos.
