1697 Controller won't turn with batteries.
« on: July 30, 2020, 12:19:02 PM »
1697 controller won't turn on when I use batterys, with batteries they don't show any signal of life, only work wired.
The problem is the button board., But where?
I change the button board and put in my MCU board and works fine.

Check that if L1 is on the board and/or look for a crack in the board that has opened the trace that L1 is on.

The schematic of the 1537 Button/Power board is the same, the 1697 just doesn't have the IR LEDs on it. You can use it to trace the AA+ line out. https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,43204.0.html

I test every component with the scheme, and everthing is OK, but the controller still not working with batteries, i already change the battery, check the contact of AA+ and AA-, L1 have 2.71v and he trace to. this is a dead end?

Unless you pulled every component from the board and tested it on it's own you can't say they are all good, some of them will not check properly while in circuit.

Put a good board on it and take some voltage measurements, with and without the Guide button pressed, then swap in the bad board and do the same to find out where the issue is. Could be around the Q8/Q9 or Q6/Q7 area.
