Hello all. I'm trying to replace the left stick on an elite controller. I opened it and when trying to remove the thumb for disassembly it turned fairly easily, like too easily. When turning the stick it feels like the plastick thumb piece is coming out from the metallic potentiometer piece, but it just makes a complete turn and gets back to its original position.
This makes me thing the thread of the plastic piece is done. This controller has a previous repair attempt by the customer, so yeah maybe the thread is done, or I'm doing something wrong.
Do I have any other options other than destroying the plastic pieces and installing original xbox one thumbsticks?
