JDS-030 Making Schematics
« on: October 24, 2021, 06:58:22 AM »
Hi all!
After my friend's JDS-030 board stopped working, and after buying him a new one (I know I could have fixed the old one, but keep reading!) the controller came back to life. I now have the old broken JDS-030 board and I want to make its schematics to help other people. The problem is - what is the black chip connected to D+ and D-? There are no markings on it. Could anyone please help me out? Maybe someone did somehow ID the chip? Or is it a Sony specific chip?
Thanks in advance

It's just some surge protection (TVS) or steering diodes in that package for the D+/D- lines.
Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.

I'll probably just make a simple symbol for it in KiCad. Thanks.
