PS4 JDM-040 - looking for components information
« on: August 21, 2022, 03:38:49 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I am just registered on this forum, and I want to congratulate you on the interesting topics and discussions.

I have a problem with my PS4 controller (JDM-040), and I hope some of you can help me.
I opened the joypad to change the R3 controlled but I accidentally removed/destroyed two components that now I don't know. I am attaching a picture of the motherboard with the two components' positions highlighted.

Can some of you that know those components help me, please? :help: :beg:

Top one is a Diode and bottom one is a Capacitor. Those need to be replaced if you are going to wire up the Rumble motor on that side, and getting them from a donor board would be the easiest option there. If you are going to leave the Rumble motor disconnected, then you can leave it like it is and it will be fine.
Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.
