Xbox 1797 elite 2 no power via battery

Hi all, I have an elite series 2 powers on fine with the usb cable.but no life on the battery?s the battery?s fine as I have tested it on another board and powers on normal  Can?t see nothing visible any ideas where to start appreciate any help.
