Xbox Elite 1698 Left Joystick

My Xbox Elite controller micro usb port broke. When trying to remove the micro usb, most of the pads ripped up, so I decided to hard wire my usb cable straight into the pcb. Everything now works except for the left joystick now moves 100% to the right. I only worked in the area around the micro usb port so I don't know what could have caused the left joystick to do this. Does anyone know where I can look to fix this problem?

Start by looking around the left joystick.

No ground at the POT would cause that full right, but if it wasn't touched that one would be unlikely. A short between the center and other outside lead could cause it.
