Alright I was given a PS3 from a friend that was not fully functional. So once I received it I thought of the bat is was probably YLOD but thing is when I power it up I dnt see a yellow light just goes to red then blinks red. Any suggestions? Ill make a video if I have to as well.

Make a video, the YLOD really hard to see its only there for a split second or 2 before it goes flashing red.. If it just turns on and flashes red when you press the power button. then its probably a Update error.

Ok the model NO. CECHH01. Yea ill try filming the issue soon as I can. When I was looking up info about it just flashing red with no trace of the yellow I red it could be the HDD. So I hooked up the HDD external to my laptop but it didnt detect it.

try service mode. you will need to get a special format/unallocate program for the hdd. to test the hdd, try reformatting in windows first to see if the hdd can even be seen. If not then new hdd is in order, but remeber to have an unformatted un allocated hdd to put in.

Service mod on the ps3 hold the power button down till it beeps once keep holding till it beeps twice should put you in service mode to format or restore the ps3

Ok well its now showing the yellow light it was before but now I can see it. :(
