okay, FINALLY after waiting for an opportunity for a colored ps3. i decided forget it, and purchase one here. but then my friend tells me that his mom is going to HK for spring break (he is staying in US) and i asked him if he can import a silver or white ps3 for me. now, its great for the fact that its cheaper there (330 USD and HK has NO TAX) but the only prioblem the region coded stuff. i noe i can play games and BD on the HK ps3, but i really want the upconvertor for the DVDs which i cannot use. is there a way to make it region free? i needa decide by tonight as she is leaving tomorrow night, and i needa deposit movey to her.

not currently but you never know one day there could be a ps3 custome firware and a drive firware flash that make it region free but as of now there isnt

btw, how is the upconvertor, any differences? (i have very something eyes liek i can spot every difference, a micro scratch on a car or psp) .

If you import it you will be locked into the Hong Kong Servers, meaning if a game is played online you will most likely not hear any English voices.

when Cyber first got his Jap PS3 online he couldn't play with anyone on Resistance untill after the Worldwide servers went up. He was locked into the Japanese servers with a US version of Resistance

because PAL copies had a new patch of the game that allowed them to use the worldwide servers. I downloaded the patch a few days ago and now im able to play worldwide as well.

well there no point anymore, my friend ditched out on me. well his mom, when she first saw how big the box a few days later, she said forget it, its too big :eyebrow:. so she is importing me another psp, MINT GREEN, but yea so no white or siver ps3 for me =(. but now i can get a ps3 sooner, TOMORROW =D. (springbreak starts for me)
