SAFETY
All as I ask from you is be safe. Well how do you do that? Here is a list of common things listed in no particular order because they are all equally important:
- Safety Glasses :cool:
- Proper Size Fuse in testing equipment
- Stay away from high power sources
- Use proper ESD safety precautions
- Have an ABC fire extinguisher ready
- Wash your hands after handling electronics :yess:
- Workbench's power should be GFCI rated
- Don't work too fast!
- Double check; triple check...
- Use sight, touch, hearing, smell but not taste
- Wear Lineman's gloves in proper situations
- Check UL's precautions on products before service
- Ask an expert if you are unsure of a circuit :dntknw:
- Electrical tape is not a permanent solution
- Read and review safety manuals for your equipment
- Soldering irons are dangerous when hot
- Check the rating of the wire you use before using it
- Discharge capacitors even if power is removed :w00t:
- Use common sense
- Mess ups can be unsafe, but that's how you learn
