Title: PS4 Controller JDM-011 R3 trace Damage. (SOLVED)
Post by: Brandon on September 20, 2016, 08:34:23 PM
PS4 JDM-011 R3 trace damage
The trace was damaged while using hot air to replace the analog stick.  The damaged trace is the top right pin, that's part of the R3 tact switch(Bottom side).  From what I can find the top left and bottom left are + while the right two are the traces for R3 themselves.  If someone could post a schematic/picture of where I can place a jumper to, that would be great.  Thanks.

Without seeing the damage done, it's hard to tell the best way to repair it.

Looking at the top of the board, as you would hold the controller, the top left hole and trace of R3 runs to a small Resistor. Left side of it is the best first place to solder a wire to, then jumper it around to the back of the board to either of the those 2 leads of R3, doesn't matter which you use and it doesn't have to go to both for it to work, one of them will do.

I can't seem to find the small resistor described, I've ran a couple test leads but nothing so far.  Curious if you could elaborate on its location.  Thanks!

The Resistor can't be seen in that pic, the Right stick is blocking it. It's very close to the Tact in the Stick, just above it.

Found it, ran a wire to it all works now, just have to make sure the wire is soldered to the left side of the resistor. Thanks for all the help!
