so a couple days ago google took wraps off a project they have been working on for sometime and asked for some input in to the future device that could be released within the next couple of years https://plus.google.com/111626127367496192147/posts
such device would be something we have seen from nokia a couple years ago (2009 to be exact but never seen the light of day yet) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGwvZWyLiBU&feature=player_embedded
the device picture on the girls face above would have an ui over lay that you could see with out being blocked by an device. the device as the video shows http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9c6W4CCU9M4
has social integration, weather intergration video/texting integration and a event reminder/planner integration for info visit their page https://plus.google.com/111626127367496192147/posts (https://plus.google.com/111626127367496192147/posts)

interesting concept but it hink we may still be a little ways away from the technology to make it work.
sure you can make a LCD transparent, but how would you light it up for low light conditions? i suppose making it small and readable wouldnt be hard, just some magnifying lenses.
once we make that stuff work out we could make it happen, but still wed be a couple years away from their big idea IMO.
-
be sweet.. i think it can be done.. look at the new oled tvs..

Yup that little LCD screen Simulates a full 14in Screen which is really badass. If I Start Boarding again I might pick one of those up.

if there not to expensive or tied to any sort of contract then i may get a pair when they come out - although would need prescription google glasses so my guess is likely cost a lot

I think they will be a peripheral first. something that integrates with android phones running the newest AOS when they come out
i think it would be smarter to do it that way. cause if i had to have these as my only cell I'd be pissed....
but think of all the cool vids that will start poping up when your not scrambling for your phone

My personal thoughts are the heads up display is too small and I think something like this would be annoying to use. lol it will probably will dumb down mankind too.

that close to your eye it would appear to be around a 14" display at about 2.5 feet. so like a laptop screen (with the laptop on your lap). if this tec was to small to use ppl wouldn't already be using it
