Title: Problem with Right Trigger
Post by: caKoo on January 16, 2011, 10:47:40 AM
Hey!
Yesterday i had my PSP just fine. Today i went to play Daxter and I couldn't use the Right Shoulder Button.
I went to the music and i wasn't able to change the track. So, i went to youtube and followed this tutorial -> How to fix PSP Shoulder Buttons (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJHb_eH7cbY#)
but it's still the same. i can't use that button.
Can someone please tell me how to make this function properly?

Thanks =)

kinda loose. Just now i tried to enter the recovery mode (R+Power On) and it did. So i think it's a bad configuration maybe?

it isn't.
I've disassembled my psp 4/5 times today. And it's all in the right place.

Definitely not a hardware problem, this happens on psp's for a lot of people, but not just for the r trigger. You need to reflash your psp, I would just install CFW again and make sure you replace the flash, this should fix the problem.

I'll try that later. First i'd like to ask you this.
I have PSP 1004 and the Firmware Prometheus 5.50.
Is there any other firmware that is good for this model?
If yes please tell me wich one, because this may be firmware problem.

matts 200% right it's not a button, there is a pad on top of a ribbon and when you press down two connections are touched together by the pad, take his advice and jump the connections, i'd suggest putting a couple music files on and playing them, if the r button does activate when you jump the connections, then there is a problem with the ribbon cable. If it does not, you need to replace your flash because it is corrupt, reinstall your custom firmware to restore it back.

valor..
sometimes it works when changing tracks, but most of the time it doesn't.
i've reinstalled the firmware about 15 times before yesterday (not kidding) and it stilll didn't work.
i gave it to a friend of mine to see if he's capable of fix it.

I don't know what to tell you, before giving it to him i would have tried bridging the connection first. Hope it gets fixed though.

I've got a serious question. What does a PSP's firmware have to do with a  button going wrong?

Does the PSP's firmware change over time or what? I have read over this several times and I don't understand any of it.
