I was thinking today at school after i was done using an Electronics Trainer kit called NIDA. The NIDA trainer kit get you involved with Everything in electronics from simple ohms law, troubleshooting, AC, Digital, Analog, and much more.
Well Why can't there be a trainer that can't be easily broken to help people mod stuff for a gaming console?
There can be several versions of the trainer kit:
PS3
Xbox360
PSP
Wii
PS2
Xbox
There can include 1 controller motherboard (probably mounted on plywood) and breadboard glued to the plywoood wires, 555 timers CMOS chip sets, a PLC controller, a power supply, resistors, LEDs, and capacitors.

nice idea... i thought of something similar to this......
A modder handbook.
do several versions ie.
360/ps3/psp/wii and so on.........
just have basic tutorials, guides, tips and tricks in each 1
and have some sort of 5 star difficulty rating for each mod in the books.....
possibly e-books....

YeaH i might someday make a pdf on how to do stuff in the simplest and cheapest way possible because i have seen too many people throw a $50 PLC or Pic Micro controller to light a few LEDs for a fade effect or something simple like that; when you only need simple knowledge of electronics and only $1.00 worth of parts.
honestly i think thats why i want to make a kit like this. a modder's handbook, as you said, to help people save some time and money then gain a few points here and there.

we have tried several times in the past to write an ebook and what has always happened is everyone in R&D have been like yeh thats a great idea then as soon as it comes to actually do the work no one has really progressed and done some work

maybe someone can heLp volunteer?.. an expert with eLectronics? i think it should be better if a thread will be created by mods like "VOLUNTEER FOR THE ACIDMOD BOOK PROJECT".. and of course credit them for each contribution so that they wiLL be inspired.. i think..

This weekend before school starts i will throw together an electronics 101 coarse about mods by myself because i'm pretty much an expert myself. Mactastic Mendez and akomismo01 nailed it right on the head, i don't think anyone else has the ethic to write an article/handbook/ebook. Nether do i but its time to recruit ppl to help.

yeah there isa small update on this.... the project has been started in the Private RnD area... hopefully we'll get to work on it soon....... but this is a large project so dont expect anything to soon..... in the mean time for any modding info check out our utorials section or post up your question....

If you put up a big post that everyone will see saying: voulunteer your tutorials and designs for the official acidmods tutorial book. then everyone can contribute and then you only someone who can be bothered to put it all together

I am working on the meat and bones for this project. I have to work out each circuit and each mod to be sure that it works 100%.
For each mod i have to think of ways the mod may break to give troubleshooting advice.
Once the projects have been completed they have to be compiled via difficulty and mod type.
So Far I'm working on...
- Parts list
- Schematics under serious development
- Beginner bread boarding Tutorials
- Working on making the PS3's Xbox360's Nintendo controller's motherboard "indestructible"
- Easy plug 'n' play USB PIC Programmer integration
- easy 1 2 3 ebook
Some of this is hush hush for now. I'm cool with questions I'll answer anything you need to get some stuff flowing.

and as Fookz mentioned some of this is hush hush... we are trying to compile it all in the secret RnD area (this is only visable to the RnD team and our global and Admin departments) but be assured this progect is underway... slowly but surely....

um not really... some of the team working on this project are away atm... ie fookz is still about no the forum as am i ... but neither of us are anywhere where we can work on our projects.... i beleive fookz is on a MLG tour atm.... n im just travelling the uk at the mo.... europe ina month or so also....

Printed circuit board designs in progress.
The Trainer includes kits for each console that gets you in shape for modding the real deal.
