Title: Imac
Post by: IndyChav on December 16, 2007, 03:23:42 PM
I decided im gona buy a nice shiny ne computer, for graaphics ive decided on a mac, and for pure prettiness i decided on an IMac.

£1500 is and isnt alot of money for me, so i was wondereign what anyone else thinks of it? If they have one or used one.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated =]

ive got a MBP and its ace and i want my mum and dad to get a 24" imac as they are awsome when i have played with them in the shops. if your getting it for graphics and video you may want to bump up the ram and HDD space.

macs are very good computers although expensive but you are able to put both mac os x and windows on them plus other OS's if you want to.

well you have fully bumped that sucker up go for it it will run photoshop like a dream

a sugestion though would be is money no issue buy a second 1tb external HDD for use with time machine and make a 100gb or less partition on your internal disk and put windows xp on it useing bootcamp then have vmware fusion on your mac to boot to it from inside mac os x as it can be useful for stuff like office and some other applications and games

I had an iMac G5 (as in pre-intel chips) and can honestly say that I HUGELY regret selling it and getting an HP notebook.

Buying an iMac will be the best decision you will ever make!

I would totally recommend an Imac, theyre amazing, and manage to do so much more with the specs.

I would have a look at a MacBook Pro aswell, theyre about the same power as an Imac, but portable, get a nice Cinema Display for when not out (you'll have around £500 left out of £2,300)
