Title: possible ps3 owner soon. debating
Post by: lilcrzytimmy on December 17, 2007, 10:35:00 PM
well, i have a wii and it chipped.  im plannign to sell it before wii will be in market and you dont have to wait.  on ebay its like 450 and since mine is chipped and has two wiimotes plus 4 games, im planning to sell it o ebay for about 500-600 w/o the shipping.  as a replacment till the wii goes restocked fully, im thinking ps3. but just wondering if you can play backed up games on the hdd.  liek my wii, i so far only have one really messed up game and backed it up to prevent it further.  wiht hte ps3's 60 bucks game, i wanna be more protective on it than my wii.

so thats my question, can i back it up?  will there be, in the future soon like soon soon.  its nearly a year so im thinking it can, hopefully.

my plans.
PS3 40gb, and upgrade hdd with either externel 320 gb, or a 160 gb internel.  and lunix?

plans for wii, sell, wait and get it back later on in my life.  i will truely miss it if i do.

Nope, no back-up games, chips, mods, CF or anything. Even if it did games are approaching the 50GB+ size so it would be more of an inconvenience to do anyways.

Personally, with all the amazing features present AND planned, CF isn't really needed. As for the back-ups and such, I'm glad it isn't possible because it lets developers make the money from the games rather than them getting pirated...

not very at all, you need to treat them like water, as in dont let the disc side touch anything, otherwise it will get contaminated = 1 scratch can ruin playback as one peice of dirt can ruin the water.

Cf wont be made, because of all the networking etc. And if you want Homebrew, Get Linux.

it's been the exact opposite with me,  I put the talledega nights disc through hell and it still plays fine.  Remember all Blu-Rays have a protective coating on them that make them 10 times more durable than DVD's
An example of something similar I did...

ive had probs with renting dvd's ever since i can remember, dvd, ps1&2, xbox, etc, ppl just dont treat them well because its not theirs so they dont care and so many ppl have it in so little time its almost uncontrolable

@ reaper, wow, now thats just mean to do to a blu-ray disk, i cant see anybody doing something anywhere near that to a disk

so is it possibel, in the future to back it up?  cuz now since i solved the [problem of scratch, now the problem of stealing.  you muight wonder how? but i got my Gamecube stolen once and two games twice (robbery twice, but i took my gc with me so i got lucky tat day).  since gc games arent expensive, its nothing to worry, but blu ray to me is expensive.

also, how is the ps3 motionsensor thingy.  is it good.  i noe its not as good as wii but how is it like?

Dont be a pirate lol, but eventually when Blu-Ray becomes more commercially available and blank blu ray disks and burners drop in price it will be possible i bet.

Sure, if you never want to play online again, and have space to store 50Gb worth of game data.
