Title: l0rdnic0's Dual Nub for the PSP SLim.
Post by: l0rdnic0 on December 18, 2007, 12:20:01 PM
Hey all I have compleeted and installed a Dual Nub in my Slim! Only thing is that the O button broke during my install so I need to shoot a new video tonight.  So check it out.

Also before you ask. This is a POC I will not be releasing a Tut on this for some time untill I finilize a way to make it easy for everyone to do this mod.

Here you go let me know what you think....

Just so you know I needed to remove the Power Plug and the Power Board. The PSP turns on with the reed switch. This is a Razor nub fully under the faceplate.

PSP_nl   That is not my method of installation and as I stated before that is not a recommended way of doing the install for a few reasons.

1.) You would need to have something like a 12 Watt or smaller Iron and Have extremely good skills. If you Jump your pins and can not unsolder you just killed your chances of using your PSP Since that connector is soldered to the MB and to fix that, if you cant get the solder out you would need to buy a new MB

2.) Edhel’s TUT is incomplete as it does not have a way to power the PSP since you need to remove the Powerboard to fit the NUB.

3.) Now I'm not flaming but even Edhel himself stated that he did not fit everything together, He was just informing PPL on how to do the NUB install.

I have a method that I used which is much safer but I have had a hard time duplicating it. I currently waiting on parts and when I finally get them from someplace other then UNDERCUTTER (Don't buy form there IMO - post soon to follow with emails stating why.) I will post my TUT which will show you how to install the NUB to the connector and provide you with a method to turn on and off the PSP as well as a power light. If I have the energy I will include a charge light too but time is always agenst me.

Man thats nice.  It looks like there is no way to keep the power board in though man that hurts, but much props to you, not many people could come up with the things you do.

actuly I've come up with ways around the power board not being there. If you look at my mods there is one thing that you will always note. I dont like to remove functionality. So using the PSP remote and some smarts I have come up with a great alternitive to the powerboard. However at this time I don't concider the remote to be a 100% reliable solution so i'm not sure if it will make the final cut.
