you can play 2 but not 3?
ik the ipof touch uses a multitouch sensor, but then would you need some kind of multi press/push sensor?

I'm not sure what type of mod this is that you're working on, but the whammy bar is the equivalent of the right analog stick. Its just a potentiometer. Any more info on what this mod is? Someone mentioned an ipod touch but you didn't mention that in your post, so any info regarding what type of mod this is?

the whammy bar, which i have picked up that u are making a gh controller from a ps2 controller and miscellaneous hardware then here is how to wire in the whammy,i assume u have the controller cracked open already,so heres how you do it :
remove/desolder the left analog stick from the pcb,as you know the analog has pins like this
0
0
0
^ 0 0 0<<<<this is the only potentiometer you will need for the whammy,as the whammy only uses the x axis,
^ leave it on the analog stick, position the analog stick where u want the whammy to be
^ then wire that back to the controller
remove this potentiometer from the analog stick and resolder to the controller pcb,it is useless
now you have a theoretical replica of a gh controller whammy bar,in the way it is a potentiometer that only senses movement in one direction, the only real difference is the gh controller one has a metal plate guiding it forward and backward and not side to side, but u can make one of them urself, then, place your whammy in the desired location and wire it to the controller pcb,and there u have it!!!!!
*i know from experience with my joystick mod,if the potentiometer removed from the analog stick is not resoldered to the pcb, your ps2 will be sent loadsa screwed up left and right signals so trust me man resolder that potentiometer!!!!!
cheers

I'm still confused as to what it is you're making here. Yes, a guitar hero guitar, but other than that I have no idea, yet everyone else seems to know exactly what you're doing. Some more info would help (for me at least, because as I said everyone else seems to know what's going on).

howd you get the strum bar to work? because normally when you use a controller you just push the buttons and it strums for you. I realize this isn't an answer to your question, I'm just curious as to what you have done so far. And star power would just be wired up to the select button, I'm not quite sure how that wouldn't work. I'm really interested in seeing what you have done with this so far (sorry I'm not very helpful, but I am at least interested), could you post some pics perhaps?

I solder the left button on the directional pad so when u do that the game think its the guiter so u have to strum
-
i dnt know bout the 3 button thing but in regards to potentiometers but i'm pretty sure its the left analog stick, just desolder it,place it where u want, then wire the analog back up again
