im not gonna type it all out or copy it because thats plagerism
but the other styles r called
laser tv- basicaly just a projection tv but with out the lamp
OLED tv-organic LEDs
SED tv-Surface-conduction Electron emitter Display(my dads gonna have a fun time remmembering thease names
he has already mixed up the led christmas lights with lcd HAHAHAHAH)

DAD- hell i dont know what they r now but just put them up

my mp3 player has a OLED screen
they can be much thinner because it has no backlight, although it still lights up
i opened my mp3 player once, the screen is like paper

I don't think LCD or Plasma displays are dead yet, not by far. Really, I think all these new technologies are ultimately vying to fill three main criteria:
Flat
Thin
Cheap
Of course, you have to factor in picture quality(but I think that's always been a given), in which the advantage is currently on the side of LCD and Plasma. I'd say OLED displays are going to need a few more years to simmer before it becomes a viable alternative and fills all three criteria. But, i'm no expert. I'm just a casual observer.
