Im just wondering if the metal covering for the wii is of any importance? For those who are wondering what the metal covering is:

I want to completly remove that metal shield thing because it looks really really weird in a clear case, and i suck at cutting metal.
Thank you in advance.

as far as i kno it serves no importance..just kind of a head/protection sheild i think

would it be wise to completly remove it?

It might be used as a GND (ground) point/connector/thing (hard to describe) (if you look inside a pc then the shell is metal, the screws are metal, and the things around the screw holes on the motherboard are metal. These all conduct with each other, so if there is a short or a bit of electricity going through the shell then it grounds it rather than shocking your or frying your PC) That sort of thing i think, just connecting ground points. I think it is safe th take it off but what for????

don't know about you, but i find that thing extremly ugly. Especially with a clear case, and i can't cut metal...
... i did however wanted to cut out the words "wii" on the thing and put LEDs, but i remembered that i can't cut metal.

Hmm...if you have a shop class in your school, or a friend who knows how to cut metal maybe that will work. Does anyone know if a dremel is a good way to cut this metal? Because its pretty thin.

I would leave it inside because the Top screws screw inside this thing ^^
and btw its no problem to saw a window in this cover :yess:
