I want to make a game for the PSP. It's going to be a Side-Scrolling Platform Shooter with possible Ad-Hoc/Infastuctor multiplayer. So I'm wondering what langauge would be the best for this? I already know a tiny bit of Lua and my friend knows C++. Eventually, I want to be able for the game to be compatible with the computer (with joystick support). And I want the PSP and Computer versions to interact. But for now, I need to know how to make a Side-Scrolling Platform Shooter.

I would choose C++ its powerful and very easy to work with. You need to get the psp libarys tho so u can create eboots

Where would I get those. And please don't tell me to google it. I've been googleing this topic for almost a year and can't find anything useful

Ok, it might be a little bit before I can get the idea to you because my computer is having some problems at the moment.
-
no problem :) we have time U need cygwin+toolchain or something like this befor we start something ;)
-
yer you will need cygwin and toolchain which needs autoconf installed on cygwin if it already isn't. Ive nver been to good with psp writing but i am learning Lua and know some C++ from what i know C++ is slightly more versitile and could have more options for you than Lua. So i too whould say C++. Gud luck with ur program.

I have never really understood what PSP SDK is. I know it means Source Development Kit, but what is it and where do you get it. And what is the difference between it and cygwin?
