Since the homebrew scene has released a SIP client and Skype is comming soon officially, does anyone have any ideas on setting up a good internal mic, so the psp can be held somewhat like a sidekick? i know this is an easy mod, but im sure someone could add some pizzazz to it...
-
A mic would fit in nicely in one of the two indents near the bottom of the faceplate...
Slimby
-
the internal camera mod also includes a mic..
-
since the news about skype i would think they will come out with a headphone jack with mic so you can disassemble that and make it internal
-
I have revired my old handsfree from MOTOROLAphone :P as a PSPheadset
-
Where do i find the internal cam mod? thanx

^^This is the Chotto cam mod tutorial.
the mic mod is in there too. read the tut its in there somewhere.
-
what is the price dif? and where can you get the go cam from? I have a socom mic from the PS2 is that the one they use? Wheres the tut for the socom mic?
-
the internal camera mod also includes a mic..
sorry i just answared this question (or opinion?)
but i dont know about the socom mic mod. Try the search box.
I personally get the go cam (Chotto cam) from eBay because its cheaper, just make sure its in new condition =D . Or else get one from a psp shop or something?
-
yeah I am interested in these (SIP & Skype)
Since I noticed no one has released a tut on internal mic. I felt it important to wire a cell phone mic to the 6 pin of an old broken remote (to make sure the remote part wasn't a requirement) and it worked good with clear sound.
-
What do you mean a remote. i have tons of old cell phones laying around will they work. And how would i wire them up.
-
the psp remote is not needed. as it is intended a audio jack needs to be installed. Then when you look at a psp like you are playing, then turn it up to look at the bottom the top left pin is mic input and top middle is the ground (digital ground)
so a bypass to send audio back to the speakers would be needed unless you want to use a earphone setup (but that is a wire )
-
isnt there a way to wire up a mic to the remote control inputs? because u can mod the remote cotrol and connect a mic to it and then the signal is send to the psp through the remote control connector, so i guess that if it can pick up inputs u could wire up the mic directly to it and not need the whole modded music remote control, its hard to explain
-
in my earlier post i stated that the remote isn't needed
-
So like you said the remote not needed but would it be easier to use the remote.
could you add a switch to toggle between headset and speakers.
-
Easier? thats more wiring(internal or external). I considered it and using the wiring to make extra shoulder buttons(via RemaPSP, but in the end i am not sure
-
sweet so you are working on a good soild mic mod cant wait .
-
A mic mod has already been done (somewhere im sure)
Has anyone actually used the search yet?
-
no why it take too much to actualy type and saerch. and to rember to use it is hard. And if you dont know what the title was it makes it hard to find. lol
-
The Chotto shot mic works with skype right?
-
How could we tell. no one has the skype feature they haven't come out with the new firmware with it. And if you have a Fat PSP you are not going to be able to use it. It may work with the pc version but whos to say it will with the psp version. I hope it does
-
Sorry, I should have asked the question in another way.
Any psp mic to date works with homebrew app's like fanjitas Furikup right?
If thats the case I guess it would work with skype to..
-
yes the 3 socom, talkman, and chotto shot are intended to work with furikup, I hope furikup lives up to our expectations
-
I believe the Talkman MIC also works, though if the quality of my voice in Talkman while using it is any indication then go with the SOCOM headset or maybe the Chotto camera.
-
I haven't used a talkman, but that sucks, that it wouldn't be good enough. makes me think that the Official mic is going to suck balls too
