microsoft dont rule out blueray for the 360
but now daily variety has confirmed that universal will no longer be exclusively supporting HD DVD which almost cetainly is the penultimate nail in the format war coffin
-

Blu-Ray won when the PS3 was launced, placing millions of players into the public
microsoft dont rule out blueray for the 360
Microsoft alreasy stated they have no plans to bring blu0ray over to their side and they still have faith in HD-DVD (was said at CES)
but now daily variety has confirmed that universal will no longer be exclusively supporting HD DVD which almost cetainly is the penultimate nail in the format war coffin

The only difference between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD is the physical disc, the actual cost of the players and the players themselves. they both have the same data (in some cases the Blu-Ray had better sound due to the extra space) therefore they look exactly the same. They even use the same diodes to read the discs
Who cares?

I do, I own about 10 blu-rays and in fact I am watching Troy on Blu-Ray right now...
-
How are they gonna expand it's support to the 360?Cancel making the 360 games as they are and make consoles with blue ray drives instead?BULL :censored: they would have to trade EVERYONE in the worlds 360s in for the newer version and scrap all the old ones.Micro$oft won't do it.
-
no becuase the 360's games are currently on dvd format disks so they would instead of selling the 360 hd dvd addon sell a 360 blueray addon
yay 100000th post
-
or could you just take the drive from the external and put it into the xbox 360 or even that $200 drive once microsoft does some changes
-
Hmmm.. Don't think Microsoft would sell an add on, the PS3 would be a better deal for perspective customers. The only advantage i see that the 360 has over the PS3 is the Xbox Live service.

And even now with dedicated servers for all games and in game XMB and Home on the way, along with XBL servers going down because of too many users, the PSN keeps getting better and better, especially for a free service...
-
ok ima quickly jump in here and just point out that on acidmods all consoles are equal and no console wars shall be had
-
Wow that sucks, I had just bought the HD addon for the xbox 360.
-
Bluray FTW! :D
-
Blu-Ray is much better than HD-DVD, it holds much more data, and why do microsoft praise HD-DVD, because microsoft always go wrong, eg, vista, , etc
-
Mann, i got my HD dvd player with SD card and Usb host, for 50 EUR0
Or i could get a blue ray for 600, Or a better one,
-
50 DAM EUROS!!! THATS ABOUt £40, WHERE DID U GET IT OMG!!!! THATS CHEAPER THAN MOST DVD PLAYERS!!!

Looking for it, it was on sale i think
-
he bought a dvd player that upscales to 1080i, not an hd dvd player that can play hd dvds
Mann you :censored: me off edhel, i was going to explain and post this
Elta 8847 MP4 DVD-Player (DivX 6 Ultra zertifiziert, MP3-Direktaufnahme, Upscaling 1080i, HDMI, USB-Slot, Cardreader) silber
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1080i (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1080i)
It's not your job
-
All you have done is going off topic and building you post count, so a HDMI posrt is not HD And Wiki is also saying its HD but there wronge
1080i is not HD???
also i have stated i don't care about a dvd and blue ray,
-
ok did no one read my post above saying not to turn it into a console war. you will have until 2200 gmt to correct your posts above or i will
-
as a PS3 owner, i have blu-rays. HD ftw. I heard that HD-DVD is trying one last push by rebranding it as HarD-DVD for pr0n studios to use as a HD disc media.
-
1080i is hd, just not as good as 1080p
-
its the just the difference between and interlaced signal and progressive scan signal.
-
HD-DVD is the best hands down hold and has more potential then blue ray but blue ray seams to be the king right now oh well. its not over yet

LOL it is definitely not the best, the only thing it has on blu-ray is the price, and thats not even that much of a difference anymore. Blu-Ray has millions of players out there, is being supported by 80 percent of the manufacturing companies, is outselling HD-DVD 3-1 and looks like it going to be the winner due to lackluster support of HD-DVD.
-
u get a good post on that there reaper...
lol
hes right too..
hd-dvd is fadin and fadin fast
-
Well blu-ray has got another company, HBO has now gone exclusively blu-ray. I can now start buying next gen movie discs without fear lol.

I'd love to feel like a loser and have 60+ billion dollars... :winker:
-
yeh i always thought blueray would win purely becuase of the decision to make the ps3 have a internal BR player im sure if the 360 had a internal HDDVD player it would be another story.
plus blueray holds 50gb of data compared to HD DVD's 30gb with last time i checked BR had 300gb disks in Lab tests
-
i tho they had 100 gb disks out
thats what i heard on G4 back in like august
-
they have 250 when they first came out to prove the power of thier prroduct but then they whent poof they didnt metion it after that.
