Title: Wiimote and Nunchuck Mod Tutorial!

ok i decided to make a tutorial on how to mod your wiimote and nunchuck so they can light up. :buttrock: sorry if you think this tutorial is long. tell me what you think of my tutorial ;D ok lets get started. sorry for the big pics ;)

1.These are the things you need
Wiimote
Nunchuck
Soldering Iron
Solder
3mm Blue Led
Tri-Wing Screwdriver
Phillips Screwdriver Set
Cup Cake Mat  :buttrock:  rofl

Step 1
First you get your wiimote, nunchuck, soldering iron, solder, etc...

Step 2
Now you take your tri-wing screwdriver and you take your nunchuck apart like so

Step 3
You take your 3mm led and you solder to these points on the nunchuck board like so

Step 4
Now your nunchuck should look like this

Step 5
You plug your nunchuck to your wiimote and see if it works if so put everything back together like this

And there you go your modded nunchuck now on to the wiimote

Step 1
You get your wiimote and take it apart like so

Be careful on this part take your phillips flathead and pry your wiimote cover off but dont break it

Step 2
Now you take the board out of th casing and flip it over

Step 3
You solder your 3mm led to these points

Step 4
Now bend your led over to the other side and position it like so

Step 5
Pop your batteries back in and see if it works. im my case it does

Put tape over the place where the LED shines through the plastic, to prevent the "Bleeding", bleeding is that blue spot you see that shines through the plastic.

if im using 0603 leds, how many of them can the wiimote and nunchuck controller handle? thnx great tut will consider doing this soon

well, i suppose u could  add as many as u want, but dont overload it. just remember the more u have the faster the batteries will go dead

EDIT: GAH wenever i put the covor on the led comes off :angry:

do u think it is possible too fit leds in the C and Z button of the nunchuck controller? will it interfere ?  maybe use 0603 instead of 3mm?

yes it is possible to do it. you can use 0603 if you want its just gonna be harder to soler the lil led.  its your choice though if you need any help just pm me ok

i dont see how 0603 are hard to solder lol, i was going to do this with 3mm but the metal thing wasnt long  enough and i didnt have the patience to get some kynar lol

hmm i dont know if it was just  me but my wiimote mobo was totally different from yours(maybe this is because i recently bought my wii) so if anyone has a different mobo then tmandt all you need to do is get some wire and a led(i used smd it doesnt bleed thru the plastic) attach the positive wire to the positive metal battery thing and do the same to the negative but attach it to the negative metal. then simply wrap the wire around the mobo and place it the same place as the pic that tmandt took. When wrapping the wire around the mobo make sure you dont put it in the wholes because when it comes back to screwing the wiimote back in place you may break your wire.Hope that helped some people with the same problem as me
