My soldering iron turned brownish after 3 days of use. Is this normal or is something wrong? and it seems to not work as well as it used to.

Normal, also this has nothing to do with PSPs does it?
Moved... geez

i use it to mod psps.
-
after 3 days? wth ahah mine turns brown the first time use it
-
that happens to be heat
believe it or not thats what soldering irons do, they heat up
-
it won't work as well if you don't keep the tip clean. I tin the tip(melt some solder on it) after I'm done soldering. It helps keep the tip clean and it'll heat up faster for next time.
-
just clean the tip, don't care about further up on the psp
you could of course not clean the tip, but it is easier to solder with a clean tip
-
That's common with metals that have been exposed to heat for a long period of time. My soldering iron looks the same, my dads is brown the entire way.
Nothing new happening there. Don't worry it's normal.

its called point of decalation, look at a motorbike exhaust or a circular saw blade, its the exact same,it happens to loads of things
-
I think i need a new tip. right now the tip seems like its been melted and the small tip is gone.
-
this and oxidation are common in soldering irons
-
yep, yours actually looks super clean compared to mine.
