It lets you run homebrew applications that are made for 1.50 kernal.

no.
you still need to downgrade to 1.50 before you can upgrade to custom firmware

but if you can find a mate know already has custom firmware it will make everything so much easier.

You can do it all night long... but really I made my first pandora myself, you can do it, read the tutorials and you might be able to do it yourself,  personally I save  pandora loaded on a mem stick just incase.

I did a hardmod on my pandora, so no computer needed :taunt:
But yea back on topic... how would I put the 1.50 kernel on... :dntknw:

Download the 1.50 kernel from www.dark-alex.org (http://www.dark-alex.org) and extract it. Put the 1.50_kernel file in PSP/GAME and put the 1.50 firmware update in the root. Then just run the program and your set.

No, you do need cfw.
