Ok I have done a bunch of 360 modding and I am stumped on this one. I want to know how to take a mp3 player and play it threw a 360 controler like a mic. basically play music for people durring matches. I have tryed puting a male end into the mp3 player and then puting it in to an adaptor that puts it to the smaller port. Then I put it in the controller and when I play music I hear a lot of static like your blowing on the mic. Then I tryed to turn the volume down and you can barly hear it as in you would have to try to listen to it to hear it but its in ok quality.
I want to get it so I can play it louder and beable to hear it.
Is there any one that knows how make a mod to fix it or something?

by the way nice sign portal is awesome. Im trying to do something dumb and stupid. Im not trying to listen to the music. Im trying to play it to them. Like be a noob to the other noobs. dont like the 7 year olds that talk just play music that thay dont like at them so thay will shut up or leave. For example the song you spin me right round or cant touch this. If you put the mic up to the speekers then it has that static like your blowing into the mic.
It is verry dumb I know but I have always wondered if its possable.

there is a way but the only way put your music on cd the get the xbox to back it up on hdd and play it with the mic not to close to close anothe that theres no static or just play it throug you sterio and put the mic by it.

This is so bogus... Yes you can play mp3's directly through your controller but you need an additional piece of hardware to do it. (Unless you an figure out how to mod your controller to do this)
Basically the reason you get static when you go directly into the controller's mic port is because it is used for both the mic and volume and going from the mp3 to the smaller plug may cause interference. What you need to buy is the smacktalk.. just google it. It's a little device that lets you record your own voice and play it back directly through the controller's mic port, but it also has a "line in" in which you can record from any external source. The line in is always on, so if you leave it plugged into your cd, mp3 player, computer, etc. etc. it will keep playing no problem.
btw it's only about 12 bucks

Its mostly caused by the loudness of the music... I play with him on XBL cause we are neighbors and it allways has static when he trys it. I'm thinking its the loudness since when he turns it way down the static go's away but you can barely hear the music....

ok to get this dont with no little kid cr*p do this stuff take 2min to do
get a mp3 player or anything your playing your music on that has a earphone port
get a wire like this(you can get them cheap as hell)

plug on end in you earphone port on your music player and the other in you xbox pad then play music with no problems no static or anything jusat dont put it to loud.
