it isn't the backlight.... the backlight works perfectly it is the color that the screen is supposed to show looks like it is grayscale......................

Your so lucky, I spent like 4 hours on eBay looking for one of those, new-fangled "Cursed PSPs". :winker:
-
check the connector for the screen, clean it carefully with a Q-TIP and rubbing alcohol
also clean the ribbon that connects the screen to the motherboard.
msg me if more help needed

tried that but last night i would move the wire in the connecter and it would sometimes work but other times the screen would go back to gray...
-
press the wire down firmly, tape it down with electrical tape
-
done that many times but a short while later it goes back to grayscale... :(
-
Do what i did.
Take a piece of electrical tape, and fold it over a few times. Stick that on top of the connector and then push the lcd back in place so it pushes on the tape which pushes on the connector. The psp that I had that got dropped in the ocean had that problem, and its been working for months for the friend i gave it to.

did that and it only worked until I put the face plate on then went back to grayscale...
