So you replaced your stock fans with other fans...that go into the stock plug to get their power off..

What do you fear, it's a fan that uses the same amount of power as the stock one, nothing to worry.

And if you are a total :censored:, just use a friggin external power.

Well...people don't get banned for putting different fans in their 360s, they get banned for making that 12v fan thing where they use the power off the drive to power their fans at 12v to cool their consoles, and also to simulate a plane start.

Microsoft sees the higher poweruse and B&HAMMER YOUR ASS

a smart thing to do is just draw power from the USB since usb can be daisy chained an most likly not monitored there monitoring power from the fan points and the power for the cd and harddrive.

That makes a lot of sence after all you can charge ipods and zunes right. But that's messed up so what about neubit dose that mean he can get ban. Oh and my 360s fan dosnt sound loud at all the only time its loud is when the intercoloer is pluged in.

is microsoft aloud to do that as it is not illegal in any country to add extra fans i can understand banning for modchips and firmware flashes but unless they have proof of you using them then surely by law they cannot ban you as you have not breeched any laws.

my god surely that aint legal, its your 360 so no hardware mods that arnt modifying micro$oft$ software should surely be allowed, fans???? i mean what crime does a fan do...in fact it benefits microsoft cos they don't gotta go replacin ppls broken 360's cos of their own dumbass-ness in the design quarters,i dnt have a 360 but i'm :censored:in pissed off about this,i hate micro$oft...

maybe its an idle threat by microsoft?has there actually been proof of anyone being banned yet because of this?i have a feeling theres more to this matter than meets the eye because there must be a reason microsoft dont want hardware modders even ones that dont do anything illegal like chipping

I know this is an old thread but... technically if they were monitoring anything other than the services that they provide, that would classify as invasion of privacy would it not?

hey i seen a fan or somthing that you add to the back of your xbox at a game stop, game flu.if i use this will xbox banned me?and how can they monatur your powere rate?because you can be running like 3 things off a couple out lits

they monitor power draw from outputs inside the console, which is why the work around is to tap power from the USB's, as you could have a Hub or something running off the USB.

Technically I think they can ban you if they see more power draw from your console because it's breech of contract or something like that if you do anything that the warranty or user agreement says you can't do, so then the almighty microsoft can do anything they want.

Guys because it is starting to annoy me I quickly googled and this is the only thing I found about banning modified XBOX 360's

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/microsoft-bans-modded-360s-from-xbox-live (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/microsoft-bans-modded-360s-from-xbox-live)

Also as I've said before but as always got ignored completly, Xbox's that use the 12v hack on their fans, which is basicly tapping the 12v source on the DVD drive and leading that to the fan making them turn faster, is noticable by Microsoft, and THOSE get banned. Srsly guys.

Also proof to the 12v fan thing:
