Title: sound reactive mod question
Post by: DaveBere on February 14, 2008, 05:00:53 AM
Hello,

I am doing my first sound reactive mod as outlined in the tutorial and wiki
Can somebody tell me if resistors are needed from the supply voltage to the LED's from pin 6 of the LM386 Audio Amplifier IC.
I am using red and white LED's.

Thanks,

Davebere.

i really think a resistor depends on how many leds but i dont know

Thanks for trying to help whitetop.

Can anybody tell me what the peak voltage output is ?
I have measured 2.25. I did not use resistors and my red LED's keep burning out.

EDIT: Well I guess I will try a 22 OHM resistor.

based on the peak voltage I measured (2.25) and the 1.7 max  votage recomended for red LED's the calculator gave me 22 ohm's.
