Title: need help on a picture

how do i crop and image not like a sqare crop how do i crop for example a circle or i i a have a picture of a person how do i crop so its just the person and nothing else?

nope, havent used it, so i dont know, maybe some1 from the art section will be able to help on this one....
but from what i know photoshop is better, just dont bu the whole shabangy (unless your rolling in cash), use the free trials

ok i just got photo shop so how do i use it? i got adobe fireworks CS3

It's not cropping when its not a perpendicular shape such as a square or rectangle.

What you need to do is make the parts you dont want to see transparent, select round the items you want to keep, invert selection, delete key. Then youre left with your subject image and a background with small grey and white squares in a checkerboard style, that means its transparent.

Save your image as a .PNG, nwo when you view it or upload it, it will jsut be your subject with no background.
