hey can some one give me the transfer speed of he PSP usb. because all i can find is it is usb2.0 and i already knew that but i need the max speed it can handle.
-
well i can copy a 1gb film in about just less than 4min so its about 5mbps
-
It is faster then 5mbps it has to be at least 12mbps but what is the max i could do?
So is the PSP a slave by hardware or is just a myth? does it hold the potential to becoming a host? :faint:
-
the speed depends on the memory stick u've got in the psp
-
i get about 3-6 mbps
-
i think the transfer speed is limited by the memmory stick
-
According to PvP's notebook, the PSP is not capable of Host without external hardware.
-
I thought it was limited by what is need for so what speed does the camera and gps need. So do you think 12 mbps is safe to say is all the psp was made to handle?
Ya i know it is a slave only but some one on the note book post posted something proving that the chip on the psp was able to be a host. i didnt get the chance to read it before it was moved to the dev special section.
Well i might be able to find a better chip to use for the HDD mod i just needed to make sure 12mbps was safe to go with. the vdip1 is okay but their are a lot of other chips that hold the capability to perform the task needed before the firmware needs to be changed. So iam going to see if i can find a better one .
I also need to learn how to program.lol

Hey, if you can make it work somehow(for us non-programmers), you've got my full support.

A quick Wiki Reveals:
USB 1.0
* USB 1.0: Released in January 1996.
Specified data rates of 1.5 Mbit/s (Low-Speed) and 12 Mbit/s (Full-Speed).
USB 2.0
* USB 2.0: Released in April 2000.
Added higher maximum speed of 480 Mbit/s (now called Hi-Speed).
So, it has a max speed of 480Mb/s, but to get those speeds you would need a high speed or high grade marked official memory stick, most memory sticks are probably about 12Mb/s, as it takes quite a time to copy a movie over compared to my iPod Touch (Which is 2.0 Full Speed)

great thanks for the confirmation i was just making sure my facts were strait.
I am getting a crash course on the whole world of PIC. some dude is helping and teaching me a lot on how to do it and guiding me on each posses.
