Title: Battery Pack
Post by: Azie139 on February 22, 2008, 11:13:22 PM
i have double A batteries laying around there rechargeable i read on the side of one and it says 1.2v/2000mah so what i wanted to do was hook this all up and hook up a female usb 2 in the 360 controller so i could recharge the batteries with just plugin it into the 360 usb port but the 360 usb port throws out about 5v how can i reduce the voltage to lets say 1.5v?

I think you can use a zener diode or a couple resistors...

i have tried this with 2 rechargeable AA batteries and i hadno luck so if you get it working can you please tell me how yu did it and all the ino i know is that i can get 3v from 2 of the pins on the charge circuit i prosume the other 2 are the negatives or sumet but i never found any point on the chargin that was 5v and having 5v with 2 AA batteries wouldnt be that bad they would just get pretty warm lol so if yo do manage to  get it working please tell me how

its wierd i hook everything up and it wouldnt work every time i plug in the usb 2 the controller would not work but the leds would turn on real dim like if the board was being over charge heres a pic do you think if i add resistor it will work!

they make a thing just to lower voltage. It is called a regulator. I dont know if they make them for that low but I'm sure if you look they might. Just a warning, sometimes you need a heat sink...

what do you mean a heatsink?

i think heatsink means something to keep it cool from overheating?

yes, its basically what aditya said. What it is, is a block of aluminum or another type of metal, with fins cut in it so that heat goes into it and the air will cool the block making the regulator cooler and more efficient
