Ok, so i am starting my second GC mod project. I intend to put the gameboy player addon, inside of the base of the cube. I don't think this has been done before, so i'll need some help.
I have dremeled most of the plastic i dont need out of the base, to make room for the board from the gameboy player. It fits in nicely.
Now i want to either, fibreglass or bondo, the underside of the cube base to get a smooth finish, also making the botton one piece, rather than the covers to hide the expansion bay.

UPDATE:
The base is off to be fibre-glassed today :D

If you want to have a smooth finish, use bondo or similar, rather than fiberglass, as fiberglass is less smooth and harder to work with (I would imagine). If the base is to be flat and strong, try perspex, 3mm should do it.

Hmm, i know what you mean, and perspex could be an option, i'll see what the results are after it has been fibreglassed. I should be able to get it smooth enough for painting later in the week.

Fiberglass painted will still have the look of fiberglass; if you like that look, then that is cool, if you want the surface smooth, you will be disappointed with fiberglass. Up to you though.
