(Hopefully this is the right forum for this.)
Basically, a month ago, i dropped my psp and the umd and battery pack fell out. It fell on kitchen tile=bad. :cry2: Ever since then, what happens is the light wil turn on for a second, then turn off. No welcome sound, whirring sound, video or anything. Its not bricked, because i didn't have the psp on and the memory stick was out. I heard from another website that it is probably the motherboard. So i've taken some time trying to fix it the past few days by disassembling and reassembling using this video.

Well, it still doesn't work. i've reconnected every piece and disconnected every piece(except for motherboard support, cuz i'm not full case modding) :sadno:
Is the motherboard really the problem?
is there anything else that could be the problem?
And is it okay if i don't connect the lcd screen and the trigger button ribbons in when i'm trying to test it out to see if i have fixed it? The plan is if i do fix it, i can hear it because i still have the speakers plugged in, then i'll reconnect everything else.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks! :beg:

did anything spark or smoke?
-
when i dropped it??
...
not that i saw. the inside is blocked by that screen. but when i turn it on, no sparks or smoke.
-
i had this problem twice. the green light flashes and turns off. one of the motherboards is still not fixed. the other psp, i just took off faceplate and reassembled and it started to work again.
-
sounds like a short.
-
I'm pretty sure that it would be a short.
As for testing the psp without the screen, it should work the same without the screen (i.e. it will boot and you can hear sound from the speakers)
-
a short.
whats that? dang i feel so retarded! lol
what i'll do is just buy another psp, a used one, but i still want to know what a short is.

yea, i'll sell it to you once i get another one. Wait, do you want everything or what?
I had heard you guys use magnet techniques or something like that to modify and fix your psp's. Is there any magnet trickery i can use to fix the short?
*FuFa - Don't double post please, use the edit button.
-
No we aren't using any magnetic techniques to fix our PSP and we aren't capable of using magic to fix PSPs either, sorry.

its more than likely it is the the motherboard i say get a new one that is the same TA-##, and install it urself or send it to sony and have them do it for u.
