Hey,
I've got a intel pentium d805 processor and i've heard that it is a really good one to overclock. is there anyone who can tell me how far i can clock it over without water cooling and what program do i need to manage my cpu usage
-
umm...
The BIOS and a mobi that supports overclocking maybe? Just keep increasing FSB clock, core clock and core voltage until it won't POST, then clear the CMOS and set it to the last settings it POSTed on, then stress test it with a program for about 8 hours to check it stable, I'd also advise setting the auto shut off to around 70 degrees C so if it gets too up when stress testing it will shut off leaving your components unharmed.
Got that?

Alternative would be to check other people's stats and go a little under them trying to reach them. Also you need to get the timing on the RAM as well... that comes a little after though

I have a Pentium D 820 but too bad my motherboard doesnt support overclocking.
-
hoe do i know if mine supports over clocking. i've got a gigabyte G33M-S2
-
should do, GigaByte are a custom brand, not built in
-
I don't really get how I should overclock. aren't there any vids of it? I'm from the Netherlands so I don't understand the most difficult english words (coming from the netherlands doesn't make me stupid. English just isn't my native language)
-
google it! i dont know much about Over clocking but it can be a fairly complex process
-
a i just over clock my grafics card that is as for as i have gone oh wait not just my grafics card my mobo too forgot they both are ati. but the mobo is junk the usbports dont work and the sound ports get recognized by the computer but they emit no sound. only the front headphone jack and firewire work.

Lol nice motherboard. But yeah keep increasing your FSB until you hit some instability, example. BSOD. Then decrease in small increments until your system becomes stable again.
