see if you can tightening the faceplate or play around with the rubber contact

Oh no, tightening the faceplate didn't make a difference, what i think the problem may lie is where it makes contact to the joystick signal. (the part that lies right above the mobo)

(Kynar+Solder)xSoldering Iron=Solution  I'd just solder the contacts together, best solution I can think of it it's contact wise...but first, try cleaning the pads with Rubbing Alcohol...the wound cleaning stingy stuff

i agree just solder it to the motherboard with kynar wire

I've experience the same problem with my own psp. Futhermore, I've concluded on three possible fixes. 1: replace the silicon rubber piece with a new one. This one I have done it and it works great. 2: Hard wire the analog stick to the mobo by soldering four strings of kynar wire (30 gauge) to the four brass color contact points on the mobo. If done right, this one will definetely solve your problem. 3: On the analog sticks four brass color contact points, apply a small amount of plain solder to each of the four contact points. Make sure that each dab of solder being applied have the same thickness to each of the four contact points. This will apply equal amount of pressure to the silicon rubber piece, making full and direct contact. This third choice requires experience soldering skills and if done right, it also solves the problem. I hope this help...

i would in your situation just solder it up it will never give you trouble again just practice your soldering and use flux.
-
or before you solder anything try to clean it with alchohol or try a different analoge and then if thats not the case den get hecktic and solder som wires
-
yer clean or replace the contacts if that fails just solder directly to the motherboard... as simple as pie (mmm pie :dribble: )

Ok, maybe you can make sense of it now. Here is a vid.

use this code for youtube next time
(youtube=425,350)ysngVUsolZI(/youtube)
replace (, ) with [, ]
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Code is completly outdated, I didn't look up the new plugin for nothing. Put the Youtube link into [url] tags and it embeds automaticly - *FuFa

Ok, i got it to work now. I cleaned my little rubber piece twice that transmits the data.

@FuFA...WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THIS?!!!!!!
and congrats on making it work again!

nvm, sry

Id solder wires to the mobo or buy a new plastic thing. I think you put plastic thing on wrong side..

Like I said, I already fixed it and no I did not put the rubber contact piece in backwards, I left it in the same way as how I bought it. Never taken it out.

my PSP does that exact thing, must try cleaning the analog contacts
